Dominique Jones had 27 points, six rebounds and five steals, leading South Florida to a 69-65 victory over Central Florida on Wednesday night. Jones, who has 88 points in three career games against UCF, was among four players to score in double figures for USF (8-2). Chris Howard had 14, Mike Mercer 12 and Jarrid Famous 11 for the Bulls, who have won all but one of the past 11 games in the series. ...More |

The problem with having a star player who averages more than 26 points per game and wins Conference USA Player of the Year is that you know he's going to leave and you know there's really no replacing him.
So Jermaine Taylor is gone and this season there is not even one UCF player averaging half as many points per game. Yet, the Knights are off to a 7-2 start and have a real chance to surpass last year's 17-14 record. Sophomore guard Issac Sosa leads UCF in scoring with a 12.3 average and junior forward A.J. Tyler is second with an 11.4 average. Sosa has been the league's top three-point shooter so far, hitting 24-of-48 for 50 percent.
