      <description><![CDATA[BYU basketball coach Dave Rose is planning on a lot more rest than usual this summer. After all, he&#39;s got to prepare for another season. Just weeks after learning he had a form of pancreatic cancer, Rose said Wednesday that doctors appeared to have gotten all the cancerous tumor during emergency surgery to remove his spleen.]]></description>

      <description> &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;BYU will be ready to do its usual damage in the Mountain West in the 2009-10 season, coming back with an experienced team that will include senior forward Jonathan Tavernari, who tested the NBA draft waters this spring.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tavernari had his name in the draft for about a month, but did not sign with an agent and withdrew his name from consideration on May 21. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;"After consulting with my family and coaches I have decided that the best thing for me is to return to school to complete my education and play my senior season," Tavernari said in a statement. &lt;/p&gt;

The university said on its Web site Wednesday that Rose&#39;s family announced that tests from emergency surgery he had earlier this month to stop internal bleeding were positive for cancer.
