Justin Burrell scored 15 points and Holy Cross held off a late Bucknell rally to win 54-52 on Saturday. The Crusaders started the game on a 20-4 run and led 28-10 at halftime. With wins over Lafayette and Bucknell last week, Holy Cross notched victories against the two teams that met in last year's conference final.
The back-to-back wins signified a team that is not only in pole position for the Patriot League's final spot for a first-round game on their home court, but that also may have reached their full potential.
In his second season as head coach of the Crusaders, Milan Brown may have finally found a system that allows him to maximize the talent of his eclectic and gifted starting five and to compete with some very versatile contenders.
