Iowa shooting heats up; Bowling Green falls 68-46 (AP)

The struggling Iowa Hawkeyes found their touch Friday night and defeated Bowling Green 68-46 in a non-conference game. The Hawkeyes (1-2) had shot only 32.7 percent from the field and 20.4 percent on 3-pointers while dropping their first two games for the first time since the 1970-71 campaign. But they shot much better against the Falcons (1-2).

Jordan Crawford scored 15 of his career-high 24 points in the first half as Xavier's outside shooters took advantage of Bowling Green's zone defense, and the Musketeers showed their scoring balance while pulling away to a 101-57 victory on Tuesday night. Xavier (2-0) shot 64.8 percent (35-for-54) from the field in its most lopsided victory in two years.

Bowling Green beats Wayne State 67-45 (AP)

Scott Thomas scored 15 points and Otis Polk added 14 to help Bowling Green ease past Wayne State (Mich.) 67-45 on Saturday. Polk, who was 7-for-8 from the floor, also grabbed eight rebounds and blocked a shot for the Falcons (1-0). Thomas, who was 4-for-5 from 3-point range, also chipped in five boards and two steals.
