Texas A&M hasn't made 3-pointers with any consistency all season. That doesn't stop the Aggies from taking them. The stubbornness paid off Saturday in a 78-71 victory over Baylor. Keyed by B.J. Baylor showed off its newfound fortitude on the road by winning in overtime at Texas on Jan. 30.
The Bears then hoped to parlay their fortune at Texas A&M on Feb. 6 and claim the first road sweep of those in-state rivals since 1971.
Nothing doing. Despite leading by as many as 12 points, the Bears failed to hold on and fell 78-71 to the Aggies.
"Top to bottom, you could go up and down the line and see just how tough these Big 12 games are," Baylor coach Scott Drew said of the Bears' rivals from a league that lost just one time at home in nonconference play.
