      <description> &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There were some great expectations for UAB heading into the 2008-09 campaign, especially with much of the team's starting lineup being seniors.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Paul Delaney III, Robert Vaden, Lawrence Kinnard and Channing Toney were all seniors, giving the Blazers plenty of firepower and plenty of experience, and raising the expectations of the Blazers to an NCAA Tournament berth.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But the Blazers finished 22-11, keeping them out of the Big Dance and earning them an NIT berth for the second straight season. A first-round game at Notre Dame on St. Patrick's Day was what UAB was left with, and they unfortunately saw their season ended by the Irish, 70-64.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Now the Blazers face the future without three 1,000-point scorers (Vaden, Delaney, Kinnard) and with a lot of turnover coming...</description>
