Scouting Report on Rob Thomas
by Jerry Meyer - 05/4/2005An explosive athlete with good body control in the air, Thomas is fast in filling the lanes, has sure hands on the catch, and is capable of either the strong finish or the acrobatic finish. He also has the athleticism and grit to be a very good defender. His ball handling and passing skills, as well as his outside jumper, could use some work.
Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
