Scouting Report on Jon Kreft
by Jerry Meyer - 08/31/2004Kreft is quite mobile and has the potential to play the power forward position as well as center. Along with running the floor well, he is active on the boards and can contest shots. Like many young big men, he needs to gain strength as well as develop a harder edge to his game. Nonetheless, he has a very good upside in that he has the frame to be a physical player and he also has the tools to play a finesse game.
Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
