Scouting Report on D.J. Augustin

As a point guard, Augustin has the complete offensive package. He finds teammates with precise timing, can shoot from deep off the pass and from midrange off the dribble, and he can make things happen in the lane. One of his best traits is making the interior pass after he gets the helper to jump. Defensively, he needs to get stronger to keep the ball in front of him.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
