Scouting Report on Ben McCauley
by Jerry Meyer - 08/30/2004Thick and rugged, McCauley is also skilled with the ball. He can do damage from the perimeter, shooting the ball, driving it, and passing it. He runs the floor well but has lost a little quickness as he has beefed up over the past year. He is a perfect fit for a system that utilizes the power forward both on the perimeter and in the post.
Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
