Saturday, Dec 10, 2011TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP)—Myles Walker scored a career-high 20 points and Indiana State surged in the second half to shake off Division II Maryville, Mo., for a 68-57 victory Saturday.
Dwayne Lathan added 13 points and Jake Odum 10 for the Sycamores (7-2), off to their best start since 2005-06.
Gerald Shaw hit three 3-pointers among his 13 points and had a game-high eight rebounds for the Saints (5-2). Corey Washburn added 12 points and Mike Ford 10.
Maryville led 35-22 with 4:45 to go in the first half before Indiana State began its comeback. The Sycamores closed within 37-29, then used a 10-0 run spanning intermission to edge ahead 39-37 early in the second half.
When the Saints regained a 45-44 lead, Indiana State bounced back with a 14-1 spurt that made it 58-46 with 6:07 left and sealed the victory.
