DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP)—Two players recorded career highs as Davidson cruised to a 111-64 win over Guilford on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
DeMon Brooks led six Davidson players in double figures with a career-high 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Tom Droney added a career-high 14 points for the Wildcats. Other Davidson players in double figures were Tyler Kalinoski with 16 points, JP Kuhlman had 13, Chris Czerapowicz 12 and Nik Cochran 11. Eleven players scored for Davidson.
Davidson dominated in every phase of the game, scoring 33 points off 22 Guilford turnovers. The Wildcats enjoyed a 51-29 rebounding edge, a 46-24 advantage in the paint and outscored Guilford 21-5 on second-chance points.
The Wildcats led 49-24 at halftime and shot 57.1 percent (20 of 25) in the second half against outmanned Guilford.
Carson Sullivan led Guilford with 14 points.
