ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)—Melvin Johnson III scored 21 points and UTSA rallied to beat Texas-Arlington 68-63 on Saturday night.
The Roadrunners (16-13, 9-7), winners of four of their last six, trailed 34-24 at halftime but came back and earned a spot in next week’s Southland Conference tournament with the victory.
Devin Gibson scored 17 points and Jeromie Hill had 16 points, making four of his five 3-point attempts. UTSA was 10 for 22 from 3-point range. Hill also had eight rebounds.
Darius Richardson scored 19 points to lead Texas-Arlington. LaMarcus Reed added 14 points and Cameron Catlett scored 12.
The Mavericks (13-16, 8-8) lost their last four games and saw their season end with the loss.
