Preview | Box Score | Recap

ST. LOUIS (AP)—Jake Odum hit a pull-up jumper with 0.5 seconds left to lift No. 3 seed Indiana State to a 52-50 win over No. 6 seed Evansville on Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

Indiana State (18-13) advances to play No. 2 seed Wichita State in the semifinals Saturday. It’s the first time since 2001 the Sycamores reached the semifinals.

Colt Ryan led the Purple Aces (15-15) and all scorers with 14 points.

The basket by Odum, who led Indiana State with 13 points, was only the second field goal for the Sycamores in the final 9 minutes.

A layup by Myles Walker with 1:14 left was the other. Walker was fouled on the basket, and he converted the traditional three-point play to tie the game at 50-50.
