Evansville rallies to beat Indiana State 66-63

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP)—Jordan Jahr finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds and Evansville overcame a 17-point deficit to defeat Indiana State 66-63 Wednesday night.

Denver Holmes added 15 points and Kavon Lacey had 13, including the winning basket, for the Purple Aces (11-9, 5-5 Missouri Valley), who also rallied from 17 points down to beat the Sycamores on Jan. 1.

Carl Richard had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana State (12-9, 7-3), which went up 39-22 with 2:08 left first half. Aaron Carter scored 11 points.

After Carter hit two free throws to tie it a 63 with 1:28 remaining, Lacey scored on a layup with 59 seconds to play and Jahr hit 1-of-2 foul shots with 9 seconds left.

The Sycamores led 39-27 at intermission and 46-35 with 15:34 remaining before Evansville surged ahead with a 16-3 run. Over the final 9:12, there were four lead changes and five ties.
