Morehead State earns 76-59 victory over Kent State

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP)—Kenneth Faried scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Morehead State defeated Kent State 76-59 on Tuesday night.

Faried was 10 of 11 from the field as the Eagles snapped a three-game losing streak while extending their home winning streak to 20 games. Coincidentally, the victory came against Kent State, the last team to beat the Eagles at home. The Golden Flashes (9-4) won in Morehead on Nov. 29, 2009.

Demonte Harper added 18 points for Morehead State (7-6) and Terrance Hill had 16. Hill made 5 of 6 from the field and the Eagles shot 55.6 percent for the game (25 of 45).

Morehead State shut down Kent State’s leading scorer, Justin Greene, who came into the game averaging 18.1 points. But the Eagles held him to two points and he fouled out with 5:36 to play.

Randal Holt led Kent State with 21 points, all on seven 3-pointers. Rodriguez Sherman added 15 points.
