Stanford holds off UC Riverside 55-48
STANFORD, Calif. (AP)—Jeremy Green scored all 22 of his points in the second half, helping Stanford beat UC Riverside 55-48 Sunday night.
Josh Owens added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinal (5-2), who improved to 4-0 at home.
Javon Borum scored 19 points to lead the Highlanders (3-5), who are 1-5 away from home. Phil Martin added 12 points.
Stanford led 21-14 at the half. Green, who missed all eight of his first-half shots, hit four straight to open the second half and help the Cardinal take a 12-point edge with 15:19 remaining.
But the Highlanders came back, and Martin’s dunk with 1:45 left drew them within 51-48. But UC Riverside didn’t score again and lost their fifth straight in the series against Stanford.
