N. Carolina A&T defeats Norfolk State 89-81 in OT

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP)—Marc Hill scored 29 points and North Carolina A&T beat Norfolk State 89-81 in overtime Saturday for its fourth straight win in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

Thomas Coleman had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Aggies (5-3). Austin Witter added 12 points and Nic Simpson had 10 for the Aggies, who made 6 of 9 free throw attempts in the final 38 seconds of overtime.

The Aggies went on a 6-1 run with less then 3 minutes remaining for an 84-78 lead with 34 seconds left.

Coleman made 1 of 2 free throws with 19 seconds left in regulation to lift the Aggies into a 72-72 tie and send the game into overtime.

Kyle O’Quinn scored his third straight double-double and led Norfolk State (1-6) with 27 points and 18 rebounds, both season highs. Rob Hampton added 19 points, Brandon Wheeless had 16 and Jordan Weathers had 10 for the Spartans.
