MISSOULA, Mont. (AP)—Will Cherry scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half Tuesday night to lead Montana past Cal State-Fullerton 75-67.
Derek Selvig had 16 points and seven rebounds for the Grizzlies (3-2) and Brian Qvale contributed 14 points and eight boards.
Devon Peltier led the Titans (2-5) with 20 points. Jer’Vaughn Johnson and Perry Webster added 12 points each.
Cal State-Fullerton led 29-23 at halftime and was up 35-27 2 1/2 minutes into the second half. The Grizzlies pulled even at 39-39 on Cherry’s layup and took the lead for good 46-45 when Cherry made a free throw with 9:24 left. Montana never led by more than the final margin of eight points.
