The Pilots never trailed and set the tone early with a 19-2 lead behind eight points from Sikma. Stohl had a trio of 3-pointers in the first half, including one that put Portland ahead 40-18.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee ended the half with eight unanswered points, including back-to-back 3-pointers by Boyle and Lonnie Boga.
