MORAGA, Calif. (AP)—Omar Samhan had 22 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots, Mickey McConnell added 17 points and Saint Mary’s overcame a sluggish first half to beat Santa Clara 74-62 on Thursday night.
Clint Steindl scored 12 points and matched his career high with four 3-pointers for the Gaels (20-3, 7-1 West Coast Conference), who remained tied for the conference lead with No. 17 Gonzaga.
Marc Trasolini had 18 points and five rebounds for Santa Clara (9-16, 1-7)).
The Broncos led late in the first half but were outscored 20-6 to start the second half and lost to the Gaels for the fourth straight time.
