San Francisco beats San Diego in overtime 72-70

SAN DIEGO (AP)—Freshman Michael Williams hit two 3-pointers and scored seven points in the final 12.4 seconds of overtime to lift San Francisco to a 72-70 win over San Diego on Thursday night.

Williams, who finished with a career-high 20 points, made his second 3-pointer in overtime and was fouled on the shot with 4.5 seconds left to put San Francisco (9-14, 4-4 West Coast) ahead 71-70.

Wallace’s free throw gave the Dons a 72-70 lead before Brandon Johnson shot an air ball on a 3-point attempt at the buzzer for San Diego.

Dior Lowhorn scored 26 points for the Dons, who outpaced San Diego 24-8 in a 10-minute stretch of the second half to take a 58-51 lead with 4 1/2 minutes left. The Toreros then scored the final seven points, including Chris Lewis’ 3-pointer with 11.8 seconds left to force overtime.

Johnson lead San Diego (9-15, 2-6) with 25 points, including five 3-pointers. Lewis finished with 13 points.
