IPFW beats IUPUI at OT buzzer, 62-60
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Zach Plackemeier’s basket with 1 second to play gave IPFW a 62-60 overtime victory over IUPUI on Sunday.
Plackemeier scored seven of his 13 points in overtime for the Mastodons (11-10, 6-5), who kept IUPUI (16-8, 9-2) out of a tie with Oakland, Mich., for the Summit League lead.
Trey McCorkle led IPFW with 14 points and Nick Daniels had 11.
IPFW led 28-7 with just over 5 minutes left in the first half before IUPUI began its comeback. The Jaguars scored the next 15 points and only trailed 29-22 at halftime.
IUPUI pulled ahead 48-44 in the second half, but IPFW came back, and Antwone Snead scored for the Mastodons with 32 seconds to play to tie the game at 51.
Robert Glenn had 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Jaguars before fouling out with 2:57 remaining in overtime. John Avery led IUPUI with 16 points.
