RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP)—Aaron Thompson had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Cal State-Fullerton to a 69-56 victory against UC Riverside on Saturday.
Gerard Anderson added 15 points, Devon Peltier 14 and Bryce Webster 13 for the Titans (7-7, 2-1 Big West), who snapped a seven-game road losing streak.
Sean Cunningham had 18 points and Kyle Austin 17 for the Highlanders (7-8, 1-2).
Cal State-Fullerton led 51-47 before Thompson beat the shot clock on a 3-pointer with 4:51 remaining, triggering an 8-2 run. The Titans maintained that cushion by making their last 10 free-throw attempts.
