PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP)—Darnell Hugee had 23 points and 16 rebounds to lead Prairie View A&M to an 82-60 victory against road-weary Alcorn State on Wednesday night.
Dorian McDaniel added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Panthers (7-6, 2-0 SWAC). Michael Griffin had 14 points and Tim Meadows 13.
Jonathan Boyd had 15 points and Brandon Rogers 14 for Alcorn State (0-15, 0-2), which has played all but one of its games on the road or at neutral sites.
The Braves finally get travel relief with consecutive home dates against Jackson State on Saturday and Grambling State on Monday.
Alcorn State shot 26 percent (6 of 23) from the floor in the first half and trailed 30-8 with 3:56 remaining before halftime.
