SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP)—John Holland scored 21 points, Jake O’Brien had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Boston University rallied to beat Indiana 71-67 on Friday night in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Tyler Morris added 13 points and five assists for the Terriers, who rebounded from a narrow loss to Kansas State in the opening round. Boston U. (1-3) did most of its damage inside, outrebounding the Hoosiers 52-32 and scoring 19 second-chance points.

Maurice Creek scored 17 to lead Indiana (2-2). Verdell Jones III added 14 points and six assists, and Jeremiah Rivers finished with 13 points.

Indiana led 34-29 on a 3-pointer by Devan Dumes at the end of the first half and pushed the lead to 40-31 a few minutes after the break. But the Terriers rallied to tie it 65-65 on a pair of free throws by Corey Lowe with 2:53 to go.

Carlos Strong and Lowe each made a free throw in the closing seconds to help the Terriers hang on.

Richard L..why would the result be different if they played again? Won't Boston be getting more game experience too?? Boston was 0-3 going into that game.

Master-- Bob Knight never had top-line recruits. He always had less talent than lots of other teams because it took a special kind of kid to come to IU and last for 4 years. Tell me one other school that has a good basketball program that would've looked at Dan Dakich. But, in Knight's system, Dakich was very important. He did a fantastic job for us.

I'm not a Knight fan but I do like HOW his teams play. Over the years, IU achieved a great deal with talent that was less than what others had. We have to give Crean a chance. Sampson left a huge mess to clean.

When do the fire Crean rumblings start. Overrated coach who got lucky with DWade. He has no clue how to run a half court offense or recruit bigs. Good to see IU struggle. Maybe they'll stop thinking they are entitled to good players and they are some elite program. It all goes cycles. You had your time with Bobby Knight but that doesn't mean the rest of the world views IU as this great basketball mecca that every kid in high school wants to play for. Marquette had it's in the day in the 70's and we're headed in the right the direction with a coach who can finally recruit and not run kids and assistant coaches out of the program year in and year out.

Boiler dude and Norman. THIS IS FOR COMMENTS ON INDIANA BASKETBALL!!! Did Purdue play in last night''s game? I don't think so. So for me to come on here and defend the team and university I love should be expected. Do I go on Purdue's game board and make fun of them? I don't think so nor should I. Right now IU is down and Purdue is up. There is no use in debating who has more championships or better records. That's like beating a dead horse. Don't come on here, though, and tell me how my team is going to do this year. Are you a psychic? Do you have some sort of crystal ball? I think Purdue should win the Big Ten this year! They should. Hopefully IU will finish above .500 and make the NIT. Hopefully next year IU will make the NCAA's. The thing is I don't know. Call me "ignorant", call me whatever you want but at least don't make a fool of yourself and come on here and spell simple words like "might" incorrectly. Thanks for backing me up Chad. GO HOOSIERS!

Hard to argue with Purdue's success. Loath to admit, but they have badly out-paced the Hoosiers for some time now. My time in Indiana I only met one Boiler fan. I mean I knew they existed--I'd seen many games televised from Mackey Arena--I had just never met one, or at least one who would admit it.

But after many years away from the state I find myself cheering for the Boilers--though not when playing IU--and wish them the best of luck.

Chad: You're so silly and so unfortunately stupid. My comment was only in response to the "Typical Purdue fan" statement. It's nice that you still have that old hat hanging ! With respect to "the rivalry", Purdue owns a BB record of 108 to 84 over IU and 69 to 36 in FB. ...thus "owning IU" in the major sports. My apologies for forgetting your glory days (bball only)....but it is so easy to do after watching your athletic program crash and burn like it has over the past many years with the cheating and corruption and such. I do hope that IU atheletics will improve in the near future because the rivalry has faded. Maybe they will even be successful recruiting BB players from the state of Indiana or even the US again!

There are many intelligent and respectable IU fans who deserve to see their program improve and then there are that ignorant fan-base that you and Kevin represent with your "typical boiler" comments that I hope the IU Nation rids itself of soon.

    Good luck Chad!

Go ahead and enjoy your boiler moment or two, but if your going to shoot your mouth off know your info. IU's last championship was in 87, a final four in the 90's and another final four in the 00's. When did the boilers win a national championship to hang a hat on? Oh that's right, NEVER! Perhaps you should look up the head to head match over the last ten years moron. Sounds like you have a snowball's chance this year but I'm sure in typical boiler fashion, you'll choke like you always do. Until you win something, easy on the smack talk.

Kevin S. is the epitome (spellcheck) of the IU fan that even other IU fans are embarrassed by. Norman was simply stating the likely outcome of the Big Ten season. Most of the IU fans I've spoken to have similar predictions. How many years have you been saying :give IU a year or two".....since the late '70s ????

Kevin is just an ignorant IU fan who only rears his ugly and ashamed head after football season. As Boilermaker fans Norman and I stand proud through every season. I'm confident that this will especially be true after the bucket game today and the BBall season ahead!

Kevin: You should go back to your cave and wait a year or two or three or four or..................
    IU Sux ! (spellcheck)

Typical Purdue fan...can't even spell the word "might" correctly! Go back to the farm and feed some pigs. Give IU a year or two. Things will be different.

To lose the game in the last few minutes and do not know how to protect the lead are signs of a very young team and the lack of a take charge leader on the floor. We are sure the Hoosiers team will grow up and become formidable but in the meantime, IU fans will suffer the same agony as the team. Game experience only grows when you play hard. I am sure if IU meets BU again, the result will be different.
