Savannah St. beats NC Central 69-64

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP)—Chris Linton scored 19 points and Raye Bailey went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the game’s final 8 seconds to seal Savannah State’s 69-64 win over North Carolina Central on Monday night.

Linton, who was the only Savannah State player in double figures, also grabbed nine rebounds for the Tigers (15-14) in their season finale.

Jamar Briscoe paced the Eagles (3-27) with 18 points, Nick Chasten added 15 and Bryan Ayala had 12.

The Eagles led by one point at halftime, but the Tigers opened the second on an 18-5 run to take a comfortable lead midway through the period. NCC cut the Tigers’ lead to 59-56 with 2:04 left, but Savannah State hit 10 free throws from there to seal the win.

The Tigers finished the season on a three-game winning streak, while the Eagles have won once in their last 10 games.
