UT will get in the NCAA, but will exit early (per usual). I may be wrong, but I think that UT has won every game against teams that have appeared in the NCAA finals in recent years Florida, Florida, Memphis..

Bruce needs to find a way to get them over the 3rd game hump that they always lose in the tournaments they play in - see Disney, SEC, NCAA.

Thad Matta and analyst Bill Raftery were chatting recently about what could have been for the Buckeyes: A starting lineup of Greg Oden, Kosta Koufos, Evan Turner, Daequan Cook and Mike Conley.

"And you still wouldn't be starting a senior," Matta said.

Perhaps no other team in the country has been more affected by one-and-done players than the Buckeyes. Two years ago, they lost Oden, Cook and Conley after one season. Last year it was Koufos. This year it will likely be freshman B.J. Mullens, and perhaps Turner.

The most painful of the early defections, though, was Conley. His game progressed faster than Matta ever could have imagined, and the Buckeyes have never recovered.

"We didn't see that coming," Matta said.

For some reason the Gators can't find a good power forward and center he has to leave the state to get good talent like New York thats where the Ballers are we just don't have good basketball talent in the south we are known for our football capital of world every state no this. UT for sure belongs in the NCAA because they didn't dodge a tough schedule out of conference. They are as talented from top to bottom as any one in the country (ie, as far as depth is concerned) and when they play as a unit, not individuals they are very, very tough. Hopefully all their players decide to stay together another year (ie, Smith, Prince, Chism, Tabb, etc) need to graduate and be thankful they are talented to get scholarships. Unfortunately, a lot of people in this country would love to be in that position.

Gators pulling their usual weak run down the stretch - at this point, we need them to do well at the SEC Tourney to get in to the dance. Tyus, hit some free throws when they matter! I love my Gators, but c'mon guys...

As for the Duke flamer, get bent. You will be lucky to make the sweet 16 this year.

I don't know, UT might go very far in the tournament, because when they are consistent, they can shoot the lights out and beat just about anyone (i.e. Georgetown, Marquette, Florida, Mississippi St.)

I believe that Warner, Parsons and Tyus are mediocre players for the Gators. Half the time they look lost. How many layups did Tyus miss today that looked very easy. If we can't get layups, then we need some more consistent 3 point shooters.

Kansas is really surprising me with its inexperienced squad. Much more impressive than what Florida's done with its.

So what is better - going to the NIT and having a chance to win the whole thing (Florida), or going to the big dance and probably losing in the first or second round (UT)? I think with this win UT will make into the brackets, and I'd love to see them upset and go far into the tournament, but they have been too inconsistent this year. Florida belongs in the NIT with the rest of the teams that played a wimpy early schedule. What's wrong with Billy is not scheduling some tougher matchups out of conference to prep his boys for tough competition.

Duke, can!t beat N. Caorlina or Kansas. Duke is good but they will not win the NCAA in 2009.

What pisses me off is that some so called gator fans are upset about a winning season. You don't win the national championship every season or get the type of players we had during that run. Not duke, not North Carolina, Not Uconn ,not UCLA, not anybody. So for you gator fans that can't remember how bad we were for so many years in basketball and football , just shut the heck up. You give the University of Florida a bad rap. This from a second generation gator alum (class 89) Dad (class 63). As for the Duke punk, How many College football Championships does Duke have. Worry about your own team.

What I don't understand is why Billy's recruiting has been so sorry, given that he does have the two championships. Maybe his dalliance with the Orlando Magic cost him/Florida some credibility?

what's wrong is transfers, early departures, dismissals and a very young team. For crying out loud Billy has delivered 2 National Championships in the last 4 years

Florida needs to pull their heads out of their rears and start playing ball. They have way more talent than what they are playing with. Getting kinda worried.
