Auburn knocks off Mississippi State 76-58
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP)—Frankie Sullivan scored 14 points to help Auburn to a 76-58 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday night.
Lucas Hargrove and Rasheem Barrett each scored 12 points for the Tigers (19-10, 8-6 Southeastern Conference), who shot 49 percent from the field and hit nine 3-pointers in their second win over the Bulldogs (17-12, 7-7) this season.
Brenden Knox chipped in with 10 points.
The Bulldogs have lost three games in a row and five of their past six after starting 6-2 in the SEC.
Mississippi State opened on a 7-2 run, but the Tigers quickly countered with a 15-1 run and never trailed again.
Auburn led 38-21 at halftime.
Jarvis Varnado had 14 points to pace the Bulldogs. Dee Bost scored all of his 12 points in the second half. Phil Turner also had 12 points and Barry Stewart and Ravern Johnson each chipped in 11.
