BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP)—Emanuel Mayben had 18 points, Reggie Fuller added 12 points and 16 rebounds, and Binghamton beat UMBC 71-51 on Thursday night.
It was the eighth straight victory for the Bearcats (20-8, 13-3 America East), who earned a share of the regular-season conference title and top seed in the America East tournament.
Two free throws by Darryl Proctor gave UMBC a 2-0 lead 1:12 into the game. Mayben then hit a jumper, and D.J. Rivera, who finished with 14 points, sank a 3-pointer to give the Bearcats the lead. They never trailed again.
Mayben’s 3 at the first-half buzzer gave Binghamton a 27-19 edge, and UMBC never got closer than five points the remainder of the game.
Proctor paced UMBC (12-16, 6-9) with 18 points.
