FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP)—Joey Henley scored 22 points and pulled down five rebounds to lead Sacred Heart over Monmouth 83-61 on Saturday.
Corey Hassan added 18 points, hitting 4-of-8 shots from 3-point range. He also pulled down seven rebounds for the Pioneers (14-13, 11-6 NEC).
Hassan scored eight points in the first half and Sacred Heart shot 54.8 percent (17-of-31) from the field to build a 42-32 lead at the break.
Ryan Litke added eight points, five assists, three rebounds and a steal.
Will Campbell led Monmouth (7-22, 5-11) with 20 points and Mike Myers-Keitt added 11.
The Pioneers outscored Monmouth 36-16 in the paint and outrebounded Monmouth 36-28.
