Tennessee St. 77, Tennessee Tech 74

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Gerald Robinson scored 19 points and Tennessee State defeated Tennessee Tech 77-74 on Thursday night.

The Tigers (9-17, 7-9 Ohio Valley Conference) led 67-52 with 6:34 to play, before Tennessee Tech (11-16, 5-12) scored 15 unanswered points to tie the game on a layup by Frank Davis with 2:18 to go.

The Tigers then scored five straight points to seal the win.

Davis pulled the Golden Eagles within 76-74 on a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left, but Wil Peters hit a free throw for Tennessee State with 7 seconds to go.

Tennessee State led by as many as 15 points on a Gershom Jordan jump shot with 8:49 left in the first half.

Jerrell Houston scored 17 pints and Darius Cox added 15 for the Tigers.

Kevin Murphy paced the Golden Eagles with 19 points and Davis added 17.
