Coppin State beats Florida A&M 65-62
BALTIMORE (AP)—Tywain McKee scored 28 points and Coppin State beat Florida A&M 65-62 on Monday night.
McKee added 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals for the Eagles (10-16, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), and Michael Harper chipped in with 10 points. The Eagles have now won seven of their last eight games after starting the season with a 1-10 record.
The Rattlers (6-18, 4-8) were led by Brandon Bryant, who scored 21 points. Lamar Twitty added 16 points and eight rebounds. Florida A&M has now lost eight in a row.
Coppin State shot 44 percent from the field (22-for-50). They also shot 85 percent from the free-throw line (17-for-20).
Florida A&M outrebounded the Eagles 38-35, but shot only 50 percent from the free-throw line (6-for-12).
