NEWARK, Del. (AP)—Charles Jenkins scored 26 points to lead Hofstra to a 69-59 win over Delaware on Saturday.
Nathaniel Lester added 12 points and nine rebounds, while Greg Washington had 10 points for the Pride (17-9, 9-6 Colonial Athletic Association). Jenkins added eight assists and four rebounds for Hofstra, which has won three straight games.
Brian Johnson led the Fightin’ Blue Hens (11-16, 5-10) with 16 points, Alphonso Dawson had 14 and D.J. Boney 10.
Delaware led by five points at halftime, but Hofstra opened the second half on a 12-2 to pull ahead 34-29 with 14:50 left and never trailed again.
Hofstra shot 41.7 percent from the floor (25 of 60) en route to the victory, compared to just a 35.3 percent mark (18 of 51) for Delaware.
