ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)—Anthony Vereen scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Texas-Arlington to a 78-59 victory over McNeese State.
Tommy Moffitt added 21 points for the Mavericks (12-10, 5-4 Southland). Roge’r Guignard scored 19 points, including nine off 3-pointers. Brandon Long added 14.
The Mavericks took a 20-point lead in the first half as they shot 62 percent from the field to McNeese State’s 28 percent.
P.J. Alawoya turned in a double-double for the Cowboys (9-13, 3-6) with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Elbryan Neal came off the bench to score 11 points and John Pichon added 10.
Texas-Arlington outscored McNeese State 27-15 from 3-point range.
