HANOVER, N.H. (AP)—Marlon Sanders drove the lane for a layup to put Dartmouth ahead for good with a minute to play, and the Big Green held off Yale 57-54 on Saturday night.
David Rufful scored a season-high 14 points to lead Dartmouth (6-14, 4-2 Ivy League) to its third straight triumph.
Ross Morin led Yale (8-12, 3-3) with 17 points.
Dartmouth led 53-48 with 6:35 to play after Robby Pride capped a 7-point spurt with a bucket. But the Big Green didn’t score again for more than five minutes, turning the ball over on four straight possessions that allowed Morin to put Yale on top, 54-53, with 1:29 left.
On Dartmouth’s next possession, Sanders slid down the lane and went up and under the rim to score the decisive basket.
A Yale turnover on the inbounds pass at half court set up Alex Barnett’s layup for the 3-point lead with 26 seconds remaining.
