Winston-Salem beats Bethune-Cookman in OT

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP)—Isiah Tucker’s free throw with 5.1 seconds remaining in overtime propelled Winston-Salem to a 62-61 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Monday night.

Tucker’s shot provided the Rams with a four-point cushion, 62-58. He missed his second free throw try, but the first held up. The Wildcats’ Tobias Mahone hit a 3-pointer just before the final buzzer, but it wasn’t enough.

It was the Rams’ (6-14) second straight win, and the second consecutive loss for the Wildcats (7-13).

Jamal Durham scored 16 points to lead the Rams, Brian Fisher added 15, Tucker 13 and Paul Davis 11.

John Holmes had 15 points for the Wildcats, while Alexander Starling contributed 11 and C.J. Reed 10.
