FARGO, N.D. (AP)—Ben Woodside had 21 points and three other North Dakota State players chipped in 10 as the Bison coasted to their eighth straight win, 74-43 over IPFW Saturday in the Summit League.
The Bison (16-5, 10-1) led 33-24 at the half and shot 60 percent from the field in the second half to pull away. The Mastodons (8-14, 3-8) can blame their third straight loss of poor shooting, as they hit just 35 percent overall; 27 percent in the second half.
Woodside had three of NDSU’s nine 3-pointers. The Bison were 9-for-13 from long range, while IPFW made just one of nine attempts.
Summit League-leading NDSU shot 47 percent. It opened the second half on a 17-2 run to put the game away.
Mike Nelson, Michael Tveidt and Brett Winkelman had 10 points apiece for NDSU.
David Carson was IPFW’s only double-figure scorer, finishing with 22 points.
