Mercer downs Kennesaw State 88-75
MACON, Ga. (AP)—James Florence scored 24 points to lead five Mercer players in double figures in an 88-75 win over Kennesaw State on Thursday night.
Daniel Emerson added 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Bears (11-10, 5-5 Atlantic Sun Conference), who ended a two-game skid.
Kennesaw State (6-13, 2-8) has now lost three straight and 11 of its last 12.
Mercer hit 19 of 37 shots from the field (51.4 percent) to take a 47-39 lead into halftime. The Bears outrebounded the Owls 43-29.
Florence, who had scored at least 25 points in each of his three previous games, was 9 of 21 from the floor for Mercer. He also had four steals. Brian Mills added 15 points, Michael Ellis had 12 and Mark Hall tallied 10.
Kelvin McConnell led Kennesaw State with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including three 3-pointers. Kurtis Woods had 12 points and Spencer Dixon added 11.
