CHICAGO (AP)—Thomas Kennedy scored 24 points to lead Detroit to a 68-67 win over Chicago State on Monday night.

The Titans jumped out to a 37-23 halftime lead on 62 percent shooting. Chicago State (11-10) shot 31 percent in the first half.
But Detroit went cold after the break, relying on foul shots and going 19-25 from the line to withstand the Cougars’ rally. The Titans went 0-2 from behind the 3-point line in the second half.
David Holston led Chicago State with 28 points, including six 3-pointers. John Cantrell added 17 points and Tawrence Walton came off the bench to chip in 11 points for the Cougars.
