Clements’ basked carries BG, 52-51
ATHENS, Ohio (AP)—Darryl Clements’ jumper with 46 seconds left was the difference as Bowling Green beat Ohio 52-51 on Saturday afternoon.
Clements only scored seven points, but accounted for the final five for the Falcons (9-9, 2-3 Mid-American Conference).
He hit a 3-pointer with 2:09 remaining to give Bowling Green a 50-49 lead. Jerome Tillman then made two free throws with 1:09 left for Ohio (10-8, 3-2).
After Clements’ go-ahead basket, the Bobcats worked the ball until DeVaughn Washington was fouled with 21 seconds left. But he missed both free throws. Clements’ layup shortly after that was blocked by Tillman.
Ohio missed three shots in the final 10 seconds—two jumpers by Justin Orr and a shot inside by Tillman, who led the Bobcats with 20 points.
Nate Miller led the Falcons with 15 points, with Brian Moten adding 11.
