JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP)—Courtney Pigram scored 24 points and Kevin Tiggs added 22 as East Tennessee State routed Belmont 87-57 on Monday night.
The Buccaneers (13-5, 7-1 Atlantic Sun Conference) avenged a 69-65 loss to the Bruins in the semifinals of the A-Sun Tournament last March when Belmont took the lead on a technical foul called on ETSU.
Belmont (10-7, 6-2) hit only 28.1 percent from the field (18 of 64) and was 7-for-35 from 3-point range. The Buccaneers hit 56.5 percent of their shots (35 of 62) and outrebounded the Bruins 45-35.
Entering the game, ETSU had lost seven of the last eight to Belmont. The series is now 7-7.
Micah Williams added 11 points for the Buccaneers, who led 44-26 at halftime, and Greg Hamlin had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Alex Renfroe led Belmont with 16 points, while Andy Wicke had 12 and Keaton Belcher scored 11.
