Stokes’ free throws lift Oral Roberts past Oakland
TULSA, Okla. (AP)—Marcus Lewis scored all 17 of his points after halftime and Kyron Stokes sank 4-of-4 free throws in the final 41 seconds of overtime to lift Oral Roberts past Oakland (Mich.) 68-65 on Saturday.
Erik Kangas, who led Oakland with 20 points, narrowly missed a 40-foot shot that would have tied the game at the end of overtime.
Robert Jarvis had 15 of his 17 points after halftime to help Oral Roberts (6-11, 4-1 Summit League) win its third straight game. Lewis also had 11 rebounds for the Golden Eagles.
Johnathon Jones had 16 points and seven assists while Keith Benson added 14 points for Oakland (10-9, 3-3 Summit).
Oral Roberts extended its conference homecourt winning streak to 30 games, dating back to 2005.
