Lipscomb defeats Florida Gulf Coast 82-76
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Adnan Hodzic scored 26 points and Lipscomb defeated Florida Gulf Coast 82-76 on Saturday.
Florida Gulf Coast (5-9, 1-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) scored the game’s first five points and led until Lipscomb went ahead 24-22 on Hodzic’s layup.
With 2:50 to play in the half, George Erkvania hit two free throws for Florida Gulf Coast’s last lead 30-29.
Brian Wright put Lipscomb (6-6, 2-1) ahead 31-30 on a layup with 1:38 left to play. After a Jimmy Oden layup, Michael Teller picked up a steal resulting in a Josh Slater 3-pointer with 49 seconds to play for a 36-30 lead. On the Eagles next possession, Slater stole the ball and Adnan Hodzic hit two free throws with 33 seconds left in the first half to end the half with Lipscomb ahead 38-30.
Josh Slater added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bisons.
Reed Baker led the Eagles with 23 points.
