Chicago St. downs E. Mich. 79-61
CHICAGO (AP)—Mike Wilson had 18 points and David Holston added 17 as Chicago State used a second-period rally to defeat Eastern Michigan 79-61 on Saturday.
Chicago State (8-7) was tied with Eastern Michigan (2-11) at the end of the first period, but the Cougars came back from the break to score 52 points in the second period and take the win. Wilson and Holston also both had four 3-pointers.
The Cougars improved their shooting from 34.4 percent in the first half to 60.7 percent in the second.
John Cantrell had 15 points for Chicago State and Carl Montgomery had 11 points.
Brandon Bowdry led Eastern Michigan with 23 points and ten rebounds for a double-double. Will Cooper came off the bench to score 16 points and add eight rebounds. But Eastern Michigan found itself with 26 turnovers that Chicago State turned into 26 points.
Eastern Michigan earned 21 points from its bench.
