LOS ANGELES (AP)—Anthony Brown scored 17 points and Michael Kirby scored seven of his 14 points in overtime to lead Pacific over Cal State Northridge 84-78 Friday.
Pacific (8-4, 1-0 Big West) led 78-75 before Kirby hit a 3 with 32 seconds left in overtime, and he sealed the win on the next possession with two free throws.
Deon Tresvant led Northridge (4-8, 1-1) with 21 points, including a 3-pointer that tied the game with 37 seconds left in the second half. He also hit a 3 with 1:42 left in overtime that cut Pacific’s lead to 76-75.
Kirby answered with five straight points, and Tresvant hit another 3 in the final half minute that kept Pacific in suspense until Kirby’s free throws. Kirby had a career-high eight assists.
Northridge led by six at halftime before Brown scored four points during an 8-0 run that put Pacific ahead early in the second half.
