BEAUMONT, Texas (AP)—Kenny Dawkins scored 23 points and had 10 assists to lead Lamar to a 106-65 victory over Huston-Tillotson on Saturday night.
Lamar (8-3) had four other players in double digits—Brandon McThay (18), Ashton Hall (17), Jay Brown (15) and Anthony Miles (12). Brown also had 13 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Lamar shot 58 percent while building a 56-29 halftime lead and ended up at 56 percent shooting for the game. But the Cardinals struggled from the 3-point line, going 8-of-28 (29 percent).
D’mond Grismore scored 17 for Huston-Tillotson, and Rex Kyles added 10.
Huston-Tillotson shot 41 percent, including 33 percent in the first half.
