JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Alex Tyus scored 20 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds to help Florida beat Central Florida 89-61 on Saturday night.
Tyus, who shot 9 of 11 from the field along with seven offensive rebounds, also had his first career double-double for the Gators (8-2). Nick Calathes had 16 points and tied a career high with 11 assists.
Kenny Kadji added 14 points and Erving Walker had 14 for Florida, which improved to 9-0 all-time against Central Florida.
The Gators outrebounded the Knights 38-29, including 19-6 in the first half. The Knights (5-4) managed just one offensive rebound in the first half.
Chris Baez added 12 points and A.J. Rompza had 11.
