SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP)—Raye Bailey scored 10 points to lead Savannah State to a 47-42 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday night.
The Tigers (7-4) came out on top despite shooting 28 percent from the field (14-for-50). The home win kept them undefeated in Savannah so far this season.
The Islanders (5-6) were led by Justin Reynolds, who scored 13. Tim Green chipped in with 10.
Both teams struggled early, and the Islanders held a 23-20 lead at halftime. The Tigers continued to shoot poorly, but managed 14 free-throw attempts in the second half to help them outscore the Islanders 27-19.
Savannah State shot 63 percent from the free-throw line (17-for-27).
