Ambrose leads Albany over Canisius, 74-46
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)—Tim Ambrose scored 15 points to pace four players in double figures, and Albany beat Canisius 74-46 on Saturday night.
Albany (6-4) snapped a 17-17 tie with their press, scoring 19 straight points to take control. Scotty McRae made two free throws and converted a layup in transition to jump-start that run.
Canisius (3-6) was held to 30.9-percent shooting, including 3-of-21 from beyond the arc, and trailed 37-20 at halftime. Albany also dominated the glass with a season-best 56 rebounds.
McRae had a career-high 13 points and three blocks off the bench, and Anthony Raffa and Will Harris each had 14 points for Albany.
Frank Turner had 14 points and Julius Coles 11 for the Golden Griffins.
